About the Journey to Rediscover Joy
Rediscovering Joy is an invitation to join me on a 21 day Creative Journey as we travel together through the dark Winter months, resetting our compass towards feeling Joy. Using the power of Poetry and Creative Writing as deep Medicine to help us to access those parts of ourselves laid dormant, hidden, or suppressed. Helping us to unlock the treasures that exist within our very souls.

It all began for me, in the week after Christmas, the beginning of the New Year, that I found myself in a deep and dark place, observing the negative thought patterns that arose alongside my feelings, whilst a virus went to work within me, clearing, resetting, upgrading.
It felt almost easier to sucumb to the dark. To sink back in and go down down down, Like the Goddess Innannna descending into the Underworld. I realised it was going to take a huge amount of effort and all of my will to re-orientate my inner compass towards feeling good, feeling positive, feeling joy. Like turning. a huge big ship back on course. No one was going to save me and so in the words of the inspiring, Mary Oliver, I determined to do the only thing I could do, to save the one life I could.
And so, I took my inner grappling iron attached it to a rope of light and threw it up with all my might to see if it could catch on to something solid and lift me back out into the light and into the arms of Joy.
But what it hooked, was not solid rock as I might have thought, but to my surprise, a poem. The Poem. "Joy Chose You' by Donna Ashowrth. And so my Journey with Rediscovering Joy began.
The task...
Each day, I will read the poem 'Joy Chose You' three times and begin to take it into my heart and into my bones, until it is imprinted like etchings on my soul. And then I will pick up my pen and write, and just see what emerges. These writings I will share within this space, as well as any observations, daily practices that can hep retune our frequency back to Joy, and at least three moments from each day that I experienced an essence of Joy, no matter how small.
And so I invite you to join me, on this creative journey. To dive deep into poetry and into the depths of our souls, with the intention to rediscover Joy.
