Day 4: Rediscovering Joy

In the darkness Joy whispered
'Follow me!".

'But I can't!' I cried.
'I have bills to pay.
Things to do! Jobs
That need to get done'.

"Follow me!', she whispered
Again. A little more determinedly.
And when I faltered, I felt her
Reach out and grip my hand firmly
In hers.
Palm to palm,
Fingers curled around
Holding me in place.

'Come' she said
Simply.
And I know now, there was
No choice.
Joy was showing me the way,
Leading me forward
To all that awaits.
